Opposing The Gaza Genocide While Supporting Biden Is A Dishonest.

It’s like saying “Sure my husband’s a serial killer, but he’s great with the kids.” If someone said that to you, the only conclusion you could possibly come to is that they’re really not all that bothered by the serial killing.

By Caitlin Johnstone

Nobody who claims to oppose the Gaza genocide while simultaneously supporting Joe Biden actually opposes the Gaza genocide. They’re just saying what needs to be said to win approval in the political sector they want the approval of. They’re not taking a moral stand, they’re cultivating an image. They’re building a brand.

One of many possible examples of this ridiculous posturing is Instagram progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has called Israel’s atrocities in Gaza “an unfolding genocide” while continuing to support and defend the US president who’s currently backing that genocide, and who recently attended one of the pro-Palestine campus demonstrations which her president recently smeared as “antisemitic protests”.

What AOC is doing here is attempting to straddle the impossible divide between what progressive Democrats claim their party is about and what it’s actually about in real life. She’s paying lip service to opposing injustice, supporting a ceasefire and siding with anti-genocide activists because that’s the sort of thing progressives are supposed to do, while simultaneously throwing her political support behind an administration that is facilitating injustice, keeping the genocide going, and smearing those who protest against it.

You really couldn’t put together a more incoherent position if you tried. You can’t acknowledge that Israel is committing genocide without also acknowledging that the Biden administration has been actively participating in that genocide. If you acknowledge that Biden is guilty of genocide, then you are acknowledging that he is guilty of the most horrific crime a state leader can possibly commit short of initiating a nuclear exchange.

Once you’ve acknowledged that Biden is guilty of doing pretty much the worst thing any state leader could possibly do, you’ve crossed a threshold. After such an acknowledgement, it is not logically or ethically coherent to follow it by saying you support him anyway because at least he’s a bit nicer to LGBT people than Donald Trump would be, or because he might try a tiny bit harder to reduce global warming.

You’ve acknowledged that he is participating in genocide. Genocide. There’s no “but” that could possibly follow that. It’s like saying “Sure my husband’s a serial killer, but he’s great with the kids.” If someone said that to you, the only conclusion you could possibly come to is that they’re really not all that bothered by the serial killing.

Those who support Israel’s actions in Gaza are the worst people on earth, but at least their position has some kind of integrity. They’re not contradicting themselves by pretending to oppose what they’re actually fine with. They’re not tearing themselves in half trying to straddle two completely incompatible positions while smiling for the camera and pretending it doesn’t hurt. They’re not posturing as compassionate anti-imperialists while serving the evil empire.

Those who are supporting Biden while opposing the destruction of Gaza do not have any kind of integrity. They’re just wearing whatever mask is politically convenient based on the way the winds are blowing on a given moment, while continuing to support the US-centralized empire which cannot be sustained without nonstop tyranny and bloodshed. They are providing social media-friendly soundbites which pay lip service to peace, while their true loyalty lies with the globe-spanning power structure whose existence makes peace impossible.

It’s crucial we realize that these beautiful and uplifting anti-genocide protests were seeing today are extremely different from the Soros ID politics obsessed BLM riots and violent mayhem of 2020.

With the BLM chaos and vandalism, it was obvious that that culture war trip had the unvarnished support and hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from the pro-Israel dominated Wall Street and corporate America. Even institutions of the federal government’s “deep state” supported BLM to the hilt. We saw millionaire investment bankers, Congresspersons, and thousands of cops literally genuflecting as monuments were destroyed and cities ablaze.

With today’s amazing and heartening anti-genocide demonstrations, we witness respected professors harshly tossed to the ground by heavy handed police, we see pleasant students in tents uprooted and forced to flee, we see major corporate employers threatening the students with a McCarthyite employment blacklist.

During BLM the rioters were allowed to torch cities and businesses with virtual impunity. During these pro-Palestine protests one’s barely allowed to say “from the river to the sea” without the threat of possible eviction or unemployment hovering in the background.

“During BLM the rioters were allowed to torch cities and businesses with virtual impunity.”

Might those rioters have been agents-provocateur?

This is a reply to Drew and Anon above. Great comment, Drew, per usual. I always read your comments because you are articulate and don’t mince words.

Anon, certainly there are many agents-provocateur enmeshed in Antifa, BLM, etc. Certainly not all of the people engaged in these protests are government agents, but if they’re violent they probably are. How are about the armed snipers on roofs at an anti-drag story hour protest? Do you think ordinary people are permitted to be on roofs toting guns? No way, no way.

The Jews are holding Americans by the neck. Americans are only allowed to breath, on university campuses at least. Jews are fighting to do the same for the rest of the world. Any opposition to the ongoing Palestinians Genocide is a taboo. Israel has killed over 37,000 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children (not counting the mass graves where people buried alive) and wounded more than 78,000 – in what is certainly the worst televised mass murder of defenceless civilians in human history. Shamefully, most nations are turning blind eye to the Palestinian suffering because they are fearful of the power of the Jews. If the political history of the 1930s and 1940s is true, the Nazis have failed to eradicate the disease.

Gene, the white supremacist Jews have murdered millions of Palestinians during the last 70 years. What’s happening now is a small part of the atrocities overall. “Our tax dollars at work”

The Neokons started all this after they took over in DC in 1981 and made a deal with the MSM moguls to support and promote their lies about marijuana and the people who use it, as drug-war propaganda to be used against the antiwar democrats and anyone who opposed the Neokons.

In return for promoting the Neokon lies about marijuana (and the people who use it), the Neokons promised to not kill them and guaranteed them US AID to Isreal, as long as they supported the Neokon lies and propaganda.

Ever wonder where all the multi-millionaires came from?

4 decades of kick-backs from US AID to Isreal might explain it.

Unfortunately, we have no choice but vote for the lesser evil. Any alternative will, inevitably, result in the triumph of the greater evil. Which in this case is the re-election of King, I mean President, Trump. There is no possibility of being ‘honest’ in the sense presented in this article. That’s the ‘honest’ truth.

How can Trump, by any criteria, be worse for Americans than Genocide Joe Biden.
And Trump has the advantage of being able to speak a whole sentence!
That’s the ‘honest’ truth my friend.
TRUMP 2024 ~ the ONLY chance, however small, the US has of surviving complete collapse.

We cannot vote our way out of this terminal mess!!! The American people have been voting for decades and beyond, and this genocidal, warlike, and dishonest Zionist Jew controlled abomination that shamelessly fleeces the average American citizen, while providing little or nothing in return is the result! In this context, I’m reminded of that old saying: “If voting actually changed anything, it would be illegal.”

hmm…well one man is being judged for his credibility, morality and ethical conduct in a criminal justice court and the other is not. No individual is 100% moral or ethical, we all have our days, don’t we? But the degree of our moral and ethical conduct determines our humanity. Otherwise, we are not civilized humans, as we believe we are. It is a sad state of affairs, we consider our selves as civilized species. For thousands of years we have been killing in the name of freedom, democracy, religion, etc. etc. At present it is Palestine and Israel. Yesterday it was other nations and tomorrow it will be others. There is no end to it, is there?

“It is a sad state of affairs, we consider ourselves as civilized species. For thousands of years, we have been killing in the name of freedom, democracy, religion, etc. etc.”

There may be individual exceptions, however, collectively, the human race is far from civilized…a fact to which, sadly, the entire recorded history of the human race attests! Unfortunately, for the most part, homo sapiens, as a species, still behaves like primitive, warlike primates who have merely glimpsed the possibility of civilization without being able to fully embody it. We even kill in the name of our so-called religious, social, and political ideals! And, based on the way we are hard-wired for survival first (mammalian style), true civilization seems like a distant dream that may never be realized. Anyone who doubts this should take a long, hard look at the world of the 21st century!

Anti-genocide heroes being uprooted and arrested.

I’m writing this post as I’m watching live on the cable news channels and good Twitter feeds, the NYC police corralling of peaceful anti-genocide activists at Columbia and CUNY. Water cannons have literally been hauled out and directed at the students!

The pretext for the police crackdown this evening is bc of supposed anti-Semitism emanating from the protesters. Apparently the First Amendment means absolutely nothing when the sensitivities and paranoia of pro-Israel zealots comes into play. Of course, that’s basically a ruse to end the biggest and greatest challenge to Zio power in U.S. history. It’s astonishing that the perception of a non-existent anti-Semitism has prompted all this; there’s a phalanx of hundreds of riot cops set to tackle and drag off enlightened students standing up for human life.

These activists at Columbia and elsewhere deserve to be commended beyond measure. They are scaring the daylights out of an establishment that’s been on the Zio payroll — directly or indirectly — since the 1950s. If a part of this house of cards starts to wobble, the entire thing could tumble down bringing careers along with it and possibly someday war crimes trials take place!

The frightened pro-Israel sellouts and scumballs are so terrified that slimy Dershowitz is currently ranting and raving live on TV about naming the good-hearted activists and ruining their lives by way of extensive lawfare and employment blacklists.

This is the treatment one gets when one barks up the correct tree, the most powerful tree in the world right now.

We either bring down Zionist power in Washington or the genocide continues in Gaza and American soldiers end up fighting Iran in a brutal and bloody war on Persian soil that’ll send back tens of thousands of young American men in body bags.

Excellent point! AOC is as phony as they come; like virtually every American politician, regardless of party affiliation, she is me-first all the way…they are all very happy to sell their souls to the Jewish lobby, even when it means supporting genocide, in return for a cushy, privileged life!!!
