Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Malta say they are ready to recognise the State of Palestine

The leaders of Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, and Malta are prepared to recognize the State of Palestine as a means to achieve peace and security in the region. They support a two-state solution with Israeli and Palestinian States living side-by-side. The EU has not yet unanimously backed the recognition. This signifies a shift in the EU’s stance towards Israel and Palestine, with Spain and Ireland leading the push for recognition of Palestine.
